Picture your Wrangler at the end of a convoy on a dry dusty trail. As each vehicle before you stirs up dust and debris, your air filter is forced to contain the contaminants as your engine gasps for air. Now picture your vehicle entering a water hole. As the front tires leave the embankment and your Jeep noses into the water, the air intake becomes incredibly vulnerable to water ingestion. Taking water into your engines combustion chambers will create what's known as "hydro lock".

In most cases, this will cause your engine to instantly self destruct by bending intake and exhaust valves and destroying the cylinder head. Not a pleasant thought. Water cannot be compressed like air/fuel mixtures. It's that simple. A Safari Snorkel System relocates your engine's air intake point from the relatively low and vulnerable position under the hood to a much higher and safer location where a constant source of cooler, cleaner, drier air is available. Designed around TJ's without A/C. To use this kit with A/C modifications to the stock air box is needed.
